FAQ'S

  • DEPOSIT POLICY / SICKNESS / WAIVER
    Braids For Days reserves the right to refuse services to clients with illnesses or conditions that may be contagious. You must disclose prior to your appointment, any health conditions that are contagious/sickness or ailments which may be affected by the application of products to your hair such as; allergies, open wounds etc. If you are showing symptoms of any contagious illness, we will not continue with your appointment and your deposit will be forfeited. You must adhere to the following COVID-19 protocols when in place by the government. ALL APPOINTMENTS: (This includes but not limited to, general bookings, workshops, festival bookings, bridal trials and party hire bookings.) 50% non refundable deposits required for all appointments. No booking deposit is refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Deposits are forfeited for any cancellations due to sickness. In the event of a government enforced lockdown occurring where hair salons and studios are not allowed to operate, deposits can be transferred to a new chosen date within 6 months from the original booking date. If Braids For Days staff contract a contagious illness/sickness and have to cancel your appointment, your deposit will be issued as credit with a 6 month validity to rebook from original appointment date. If your event has been cancelled/postponed, but there is no lockdown in place (i.e. hair industries are able to operate), your deposit is non refundable/or transferable to a new date. Please advise if you wish to cancel with as much notice as possible. Any bookings that are transferred to a new date must be under the original clients booking name and details and must be attended by the original client. WEDDINGS: 50% non refundable deposits required for all appointments. No booking deposit is refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Deposits are forfeited for any cancellations due to sickness. In the event of a government enforced lockdown occurring where hair salons and studios are not allowed to operate, deposits can be transferred to a new chosen date within 12 months from the original booking date. Deposits will be forfeited if cancelling/postponing your wedding date due to reasons relating to COVID-19 that is not a lockdown, such as but not limited to; Financial Sickness/or contracting COVID-19 Border closure Friends/family members not able to attend wedding Venue limitation on guest numbers Becoming a close/casual contact with someone with COVID-19 and made to isolate at the time of your booking Masks mandatory at weddings Please note, we have a ‘Hair Industry SOS’ Facebook group in the event Braids For Days cannot attend your appointment. We will do our best to find a replacement, but can not promise. If you have a wedding booked with Braids For Days, we recommend you do your best to self isolate 2 weeks leading up to your wedding to avoid losing your deposit with us. Please remember, deposits do not only partially cover your booking, but they are to assist in covering the costs of running a business. We have a “No Show, No Toleration” policy – if you do not show up to your appointment, we will not take bookings from you in future.
  • Is my hair too short/long?
    Not usually, but there are certain styles that will look and hold better than others, so keep that in mind when booking. Undercuts (side & back): Minimum of 8cm long, but always send a photo first. Extensions: Your natural hair should touch your shoulder. Ponytails are great no matter what your hair type is, and we can distribute out how much hair we need through the braids to get the best pony blend we can. Additional packets of hair (in any style) is an additional $20. Please keep in mind that if we are using synthetic extensions that are longer than your natural hair, you may have some “bits” poking through the braids/plaits.
  • Is my hair too thin/thick?
    Thick Hair: Please be aware that thick hair won’t blend as easily with extensions, especially if you have a blunt cut. We recommend, 'the more braids, the better' for thicker hair. Sometimes an additional packet of hair is required to create the perfect blend & portions, an additional packet to any style, is an additional $20. Thin Hair: You have PERFECT hair for braids! Fine/Thin hair blends a lot easier with extensions and you don't tend to have pieces poking thru, as the extensions consume your hair. However, if you want extra thick, we recommend getting an additional packet (to some styles), an additional packet is an extra $20.
  • Do you braid men’s hair?
    Yes! We love man braids! Your hair must be at least 8cm long. All braids will look and hold better if you can lift a piece of hair from the front & it reaches to the back/top of your head. Please send a photo of your hair prior to booking.
  • How long will my braids last for?
    The real question is, "how long will they stay neat?”. All clients and hair are different, and factors like how you sleep, as well as your day-to-day activities can affect how long your braids will last. Also, make sure you follow the hair prep instructions provided in your booking confirmation email. As mentioned above, ALL STYLES can LAST as long as you leave them in for, the below is estimates of how long they can stay "wearable/neat" for. Ponytail Style (with extensions): This style can usually be left in for 7-14 days, then gradually remove selected braids (if you feel the pony itself is "too messy" to keep in). You can untie each braid separately depending what ones you want to leave in, this will be explained in person at your appointment as Audra assembles your style. Top Braids (Tight): 4 days to 4 weeks. Top Braids (Loose): 2 days to 2 weeks. 2 x Boxer Braids (with extensions): 2 days to 2 weeks. 4 to 6 x Boxer Braids (Tight): 4 days to 3 weeks. Boxer Braids (Loose): 1 day to 1 week. If you arrive at your appointment with 2 to 7 day old hair, this helps as the natural oil stops the hair in the braids from slipping. Try not to get the braids wet (this will help your smaller baby hairs come out and cause the product to run). Sleeping with an after care head wrap or silk pillowcase, available to purchase, helps prevent your braids rubbing on "rough" surfaces in your sleep. Lastly, apply a little hair spray when you see any hairs you don't want poking out!
  • Can my hair be braided with pre-existing extensions?
    Yes, but your choices in style may be limited as it’s not always possible to completely hide the extensions. The best style to go for are Top Braid Styles (1x, 2x, 3x top braids), the aleisha or holly style, 2x pulled out boxer braids, and up-dos (hair up or down). As Braids For Days needs to section your hair, please be mindful that if your extensions are in the way, your hair cannot be sectioned properly. This means the style you want may not be achievable. Feel free to check the style with us before booking.
  • Can I become a stockist/wholesaler?
    To receive a wholesale discount, please email your business name to braidsfordays@outlook.com. All wholesale synthetic hair come branded by Braids For Days. You can resell this hair or use it for your own business. Any product bought from Braids For Days cannot be rebranded or sold below RRP. Wholesale Discount is 40% Off. The minimum spend to receive the discount is $250 RRP, this means once discount applied, the total value of your cart will be a minimum of $150.
  • How can I claim my voucher?
    Please contact us to book an appointment using a voucher. Vouchers are valid for 3 years. Vouchers are only redeemable by 1 person (who's name is on the voucher), and if the whole voucher amount is not used in 1 appointment you will be provided with a cash refund of the difference. A payment to make up the 50% deposit value may still be required to secure your booking. *For example, the appointment is $100 and you have a voucher for $20, this means a difference of $30 will be payable to make up the 50% deposit fee of $50. Your voucher is treated as your deposit, and the same cancellation policy applies to your voucher.
  • What is an after hours surcharge?
    Braids For Days charges an extra $10 for an appointment booked outside their hours. To book an after hours appointment, please fill out the enquiry form on our website or contact us on socials. After hours are not available Monday to Wednesdays 8:30AM - 4:30PM.
  • Is your studio child friendly?
    Yes, however it is advised, if you can avoid it, to come alone! Enjoy your ME TIME!
  • Refund and return policy from our online store
    If you wish to return an item simply because you have changed your mind, we will accept an item exchange or refund provided you return it within 5 days from the date of receiving your order. The returned item must be in its original condition with labels/tickets attached. Customers must cover shipping costs. Refunds or exchanges will be issued if the originally sent product is damaged or not as described. Braids for Days will cover shipping costs in this instance and replace the product or issue a refund. Product must be returned for inspection before refund or exchange is issued, Braids for Days will provide a shipping label to you in this instance.
  • Shipping and pickup times
    Please allow up to 2 business days for us to prepare your order before expecting it to be shipped or ready to be picked up. All orders are shipped by Auspost and delivery estimates can be calculated here https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/calculate-postage-delivery-times/#/
  • How do i prepare my hair before my appointment?
    For braids, we ask 2-7 days unwashed, natural oils in the hair will help the braids stay neater for longer with less fly aways. You may straighten your hair for best results, but this varies depending on your booked hairstyle and your natural hair type. We recommend if you have wavey/or curley hair, that you straighten it prior. Any synthetic ponytail styles, we ask 2-7 days unwashed, and your hair must be straightened prior, as once the synthetic extensions are installed, it can be hard to straighten your ponytail afterwards. For updo's & curls/waves, please wash your hair 1-2 days prior, clean hair is best for these looks, as we don't want oily looking roots, oil also causes curls to drop. For ALL appointments, we ask that you arrive with your hair dry and brushed. When you book your appointment, you will receive an automated email outlining how you should prepare your hair. If you do not follow the guidelines within the email, we cannot guarantee your hairstyle will last/be the best version of the style in your hair!
  • Do I need to pre-buy hair before my appointment?
    No. When you make a booking with Braids For Days, the synthetic hair is included in the price, you select the colour on the day. Please have a colour in mind before your appointment however, as our range can be overwhelming!
  • How far in advance can I book my appointment?
    Braids For Days allows booking for bridal parties (minimum 4 people) up to 12 months in advance. All other client bookings bookings are open 3 months in advance. Festivals/Christmas/NYE (and other high demand dates), are SOMETIMES opened sooner. These dates will be posted on social media to advise clients on when bookings open, bookings are still made on our online booking system. For any bookings made over 6 months in advance, pricing is subject to change. You will be notified of this increase or decrease.
  • What do I do if I want to change my hairstyle or cancel my appointment?
    If you want to cancel your booking, you will not receive a refund, as per our Deposit policy. However, if you’d like to change the hairstyle, Braids For Days is happy to change it if the new hairstyle takes the same amount/or less amount of time as the previous booked style – or if it takes longer, this will be subject to availability. It is appreciated that if you want to change the style, to please get in touch in advance to avoid dissapointment.
  • Can I book you for my bridal party/group?
    Bridal: Yes, please head to our Bridal & Events page to view pricing and info. If you like what you read, please fill out the enquiry form on the same page. Groups with Individual Hair Styles: Yes, please contact Braids For Days by completing our enquiry form on our website/or contact us on socials, advising date, time to be ready and location to get ready. For ALL mobile group bookings, the minimum is 4 people / and minimum 2 hours labour.
  • Can I hire Braids For Days to braid at my event?
    Yes, Please read our Event Hire Pricing via the BOOK NOW page, if you like what you read and want to check our availability, please complete the enquiry form on our website with quantity of people, location & party start time, so we can advise the most suitable package. Event hire is fantastic for events such as, kids parties, hens parties, corporate functions, community events, etc.
  • Do you travel down south?
    We are happy to travel down south for your event! Travel fees are $75 per hour (from Byford). Accommodation must be covered by the client for the night before your event date, as well as a meal/lunch on the event day. Events held in Perth and surrounding suburbs have no additional food or accommodation costs. Bookings in the CBD/Or Crown, Valet parking must be covered by the client where applicable.
  • Festival & Christmas/NYE bookings, what do I need to know?
    Bookings can be made via the Book Now page, (if bookings are open). All bookings can be made 3 months in advance, however in some instances we open festivals/christmas/nye etc sooner, a notice for this is shared on socials. If you book with Braids For Days for a music festival, please choose either the earliest or the latest slot. If you do not do this, you may be asked to move your appointment. Wondering if your braids will last until the festival? That’s a yes! You can trust Braids For Days will supply a high quality service and style and is happy to suggest styles that can last for a few days prior. If you're unsure a style will last, please contact us prior to booking.
